I think I have ADD when it comes to sticking to projects...
I've been cranking along on my baby blanket and got talked into a scarf (or rather guilted into a scarf) for my boss for xmas. Now I'm getting excited about attempting the scarf. It is the Danica scarf on Knitty.com. I have to finish it by Dec 19th so don't have much time. I got the colors today. I'm going with the Patons Classic Merino Wool in black, dark grey and burgundy. The burgundy will be the random color that pops throughout the scarf. Supposedly it knits up fast but of course that could be like the recipes that say completion time of 15 minutes and it takes you 45. If it gets too much I may just do the cable scarf I found on Straw.com. I'm going to try it tonight and after that should know what I've gotten myself into. LOL

Slacker, slacker!
I've just started knitting again. Got frustrated with my cardigan and blanket I was working on and had to rip them back to the errors. I'm currently working on a baby blanket. (Can't keep up with all the pregnant ladies lately!) It is the Mason Dixon Post Moderne Baby Blanket. Had to start over on this one. It is coming along nicely.
I'm joining the Top 10 Stash Projects Knit-A-Long in hopes I'll finish several projects I have in progress. Should be fun!
I never got around to showing my sister the fair isle method for the hat I mentioned before. I did complete the hat however using stash yarn. It came out cute. I'll have to post a picture later. She didn't like the style of the hat. :/

Side Tracked
My sister called yesterday and wanted me to come over and show her how to knit a fair isle hat. I thought I had a pattern but didn't of course. I spent too long looking for patterns and colors so didn't get a chance to come over and show her. I found a really cute beginning fair isle hat on ravelry.com. I dug into my stash and came out with 4 colors to complete the project. I ended up working on that instead of my post moderne baby blanket (had to start over on that one!). I'm almost done. The colors I used are a dark blue, medium blue, light blue and a medium green.

Whoops!
Been awhile since my last post! I did go with the green and it looks pretty. Only problem is I messed up one block tried to fudge it and made it worse! DOH. I need to go back and rip out two blocks. Trying to figure out if I can cut the bad ones, put the good ones on other needles and then reattach the 2 bad ones. It will be an adventure. I really don't want to rip all the good ones back to the 2nd block I did. *sigh* I'll give it a shot and see what happens!
Got my invite to Ravelry today. Woo-hoo! Looks like it will be an awesome site. I'm so excited!

Decisions Decisions
Today I popped by the Recycled Lamb to see if they had Fiber Trends Hedge Hog pattern, but they didn't so I looked for yarn for the Post Moderne Baby Blanket from Mason Dixon Knitting. I ended up buying cream, lavender, purple and dark forest green yarn. I'm not sure about the forest green how it will pan out but we shall see.
I'm trying to decide which project to take with me on vacation. I thought about taking Kerry but that one hurts my fingers after awhile. I want something nice and mindless as well. I thought about the dh's philosopher's wool sweater but that definitely isn't mindless. So, I probably will take the baby blanket as it is all garter stitch.
I need to pack tonight for Jake and I and then wind the balls. Still working on the Harry Potter book scarf. It is really cool.

Sheldon is completed
Well, almost. I just need to sew the shell together and sew on his legs and he'll be done! I'm now doing the Harry Potter Bookscarf. I've never knitted on size 0 needles before but it seems to be going smoothly. Using Pearl Cotton DMC thread is the challenging part. (Keeping it tight.) I got the pattern from this blogsite:
Harry Potter Bookscarf
So cute!
I just noticed that when I go to Mackinac Island a week from today, we will be sort of close to the Philosopher's Wool farm. I looked at it on mapquest and of course it is an 8 hour drive to it. I wonder if you can take a boat across to cut the time. Probably not. But...wouldn't it be nice?

Sheldon's Shell
Well....I finished the top of Sheldon's shell....looked at the picture....and realized I had the MC and CC mixed up. DOH. I put it on his back and it just doesn't look as good as what it should. So, starting over. Oh well. I now know how it works! LOL. *sigh*

Knit Knack-Arvada Knitters Night
Made it to the knit night with the Arvada knitters. The new store is fabulous! It reminds me in some ways of the Lamb Shoppe in Denver. Very cozy and comfortable. The owners are very nice and they had lots of cool stuff. (I really wanted to look but have an internal agreement with myself to finish Sheldon and the Kerry sweater before buying anything else!) The Debbie Bliss books that were passed around made my fingers twitchy to buy one but I was good! A few more meetings at the store will certainly make me cave at some point. :) (Not that it is a bad thing..)
I can't believe how much the group has grown! Patti and I used to go semi regularly when the group started and at most there were 5-6 people on a good night. Tonight there must have been about 12 people there! Whoa! I'm pretty excited to start frequenting the group again. Course it all depends when dh is on the road as well.
Here's a picture of Sheldon in progress: (He's naked.)

At the store, I worked on his shell. I have all the increases done. Now I have to start the decreases. It is turning out cute. I have his legs done but they haven't been stuffed and attached yet.
Here is the baby blanket I finished a couple weeks ago:

And after Sheldon is done, I'm back to this sweater (Kerry Cardigan):

Can barely see the cables and the honeycomb in the picture. I'm at the armhole splits and working on the back. I'll have to try and take a picture of it on a white background. Maybe it will come out better. Or further back. Oh well.
While I'm displaying pictures, here are a few more:
A sweater I did for Jake that no longer fits him (of course):

Baby Blanket
Finished! Woo-hoo! I'm now working on Sheldon the Turtle from knitty.com. I'm working on his shell. I discovered the kelly green yarn I got was smaller than the body yarn I got. So, I found some Caron green yarn that sort of matched the color I'm looking for. Hope it is the same weight. This is the second stuffed animal I have done. The first turned out rather pathetic. It was a rabbit. I don't have the heart to put a face on it yet. I knit it way too loosely and so it looks rather sad looking. But Sheldon is turning out very well. I'll post a picture later.
Another project I keep looking at to start is the Harry Potter bookscarf. It is way to cute not to start. I've started reading book 7 but keep falling asleep. Too much going on right now to stay focused on the book. That is a first for me! Usually it would be finished by now!
I hope to go to knit night tonight. I haven't been in sooo long. I'm taking Sheldon with me. We are meeting at a new yarn store in Arvada. I'm excited. New yarn stores are fabulous. I wish a friendly yarn store would pop up near me. Some day...

Baby Blanket Bleuz

I am so ready to be done with this baby blanket! I started it in March and have knitted on it off and on. It is a pattern that I need to focus on or I end up off a few stitches. With a near 2 year old toddler, time is limited. I have one more pattern repeat and then I'm done. Woo-hoo! I'm doing to Bunny Hop Diamond Stitch Baby Blanket listed on Straw.com.
When I finish this one, my reward is doing a Teresa Wentzler cross stitch with a coworker of mine. We are going to do Stretch the dragon.
It will be my first Teresa Wentzler pattern and my coworker's 5th. I figure she'll be able to provide me with any help I need. Haven't decided on the count of fabric yet. I'm leaning toward 22 ct but I may do 18 ct. The designer did it on 18 and that might be easier for me. We shall see!

In the mean time, I will probably go back to work on my Black Water Abbey cabled cardigan sweater (Kerry). I'm working on the back still. Here's a picture of what the end result SHOULD look like...

The color I'm using is mountain. (Kind of a dark lavender color.) I started the pattern in a class taught by Marilyn from Black Water Abbey Yarns last fall and kind of got spirited away from finishing it due to numerous births at work. I'll post picture updates later. It is almost midnight and I've got to sleep...(what's that?)
